Bring Back Democracy
Respect has been very much involved in the successful campaign to Save Ladywell Pool and, given that the main cause of the problem was the undemocratic directly elected Mayor system, is now involved in the campaign to Bring Back Democracy by getting rid of the Mayor system.
East London Line Privatisation
Respect supports the RMT campaign against the privatisation of the East London Line. We have leafleted and our local banner has been present at lobbies and public meetings.
New Discussion/News Forum
There is now a Yahoo Group for Lewisham and Greenwich Respect members and supporters.
The idea is that, while official communications about Respect and affiliated organisations, or local events that we are organising, will still come from the Secretary, some less formal news and information might be worth sharing with other members and supporters. Most contacts we know have already been invited to join, or you can request to join via the Web.
